This is another book that was mentioned at the training. It is another one I look forward to reading. (http://www.amazon.com/)
Another resource that is worth checking out if you haven't yet is

She has wonderful ideas on feeding children and the division of responsibility.
I work with child care providers in CACFP (food program). I had Connie Ever's come out and do a presentation in nutrition for my program. She has a book out called "How to Teach Nutrition to Kids" by Connie Evers . She was a great speaker! It is a good book if you are working with children to teach them about nutrition.
I am interested in reading the book you shared, "Last Child in the Woods". I am not a big outdoorsy person so I find that I have a hard time bringing it into the classroom.
ReplyDeleteLast weekend, my sister's family and I went on a little get-away to the mountains. I realized that my niece and nephew did not appreciate being in this natural area at first. All they wanted to do was watch movies. Once we went on a walk, they learned that there was a lot to explore. On our trip we were lucky enough to see 5 deer by our back porch, a snake, woodpeckers, and we collected many pinecones. My nephew is already begging to go back because he loved being in this wonderful environment.
